Terms of Use

Last updated August 26, 2026

These terms cover the public site at https://thehelmsman.app and the Helmsman app published by Phillip Holland. Helmsman is a personal navigation assistant for CarPlay. It is not a replacement for paying attention to the road, traffic, or the vehicle.

The product

You talk a trip into existence. Helmsman hands a destination pin to Apple Maps. Apple Maps provides turn-by-turn navigation. Helmsman does not replace Maps, Siri, or your duty as the driver. Use it only where CarPlay and local law allow, and only when it is safe.

No substitute for driving

Do not look at a screen, speak a destination, or confirm a handoff if that would take attention off the road. Follow traffic law. You are responsible for the vehicle. Voice results and map pins can be wrong. If a suggested place is not the one you meant, do not follow it.

License

The App Store license from Apple governs the binary you install. This website is provided so you can read privacy, support, and terms. You may not scrape, misrepresent, or republish this site as your own product.

What we do not promise

Helmsman is provided as-is. Place search, voice understanding, and Maps handoff can fail: no signal, no CarPlay session, a processor outage, a wrong match. We do not warrant that a trip will be understood or that Maps will receive the pin you intended. To the fullest extent law allows, Phillip Holland is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including anything that happens on the road after you use the app.

This site

thehelmsman.app has no accounts and no store checkout. The home page shows Apple's official Download on the App Store badge. Until a public listing URL exists, that badge is not a purchase link. Do not treat it as an offer for sale.
